I love fire-roasted food when camping! Marshmallows, hotdogs, corn… but we had a special treat when a marshmallow fell off a stick and landed on a yam we were roasting in the campfire. It looked good! And my friend apparently said that marshmallows on sweet potato is actually a treat in the south so we decided to try it… soooo good!
Baja Fish Taco’s at Joey Don Mills. We ordered this entree and ate it as an appetizer. The fish was incredibly moist and the construction of ingredients in the taco was so flavorful! I’m not super huge on going to chain restaurants a lot, but I’d go back for this! Plus, service was amazing and the rooftop patio is gorgeous.
Pulled pork sandwich and ribs from Gator BBQ’s stand @ Ribfest 2012 Ontario. The BEST sauce I’ve had in the 3 years I’ve been attending Ribfest! And the ribs were sooo tender. Mmmm…. I’m hungry just looking at the pics again :)
Went to a “sandwich smackdown” a couple weeks ago between Chef Mark McEwan and the fast-rising Toronto street food star Matt Basile from “fidel gastros”. These two awesome sammys are from mcewan: 1) beef brisket with caramelized onions and horseradish aioli; and 2) asian style pulled pork shoulder with yuzu mayo, cucumber-sesame slaw and coriander. Personally LOVED the brisket :)
pulled pork sandwich @ The Black Dog in scarborough. loved the bbq sauce and the meat was so tender!
side note: I’ve been so into food lately, so food photography will probably begin to increase here :)
before the fundraising concert at the hard rock cafe, my friend and I had dinner at Golden Thai (richmond and church, toronto). service, food, ambience and prices were all amazing!
