My cousin’s little girl is 7 years old. In the Philippines, 7 is a big year (don’t ask me why!) so there was a big celebration. Not as big as a girl’s 18th, but still big nonetheless.
So many people still toughed out the rainstorm this morning at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon
The 80 degree drop of the newest coaster at Canada’s Wonderland - the Leviathan. Apparently the 2 hour wait was worth the 3.5 min ride. (Yes, apparently. I will gladly admit I don’t have the balls to go on this, but am satisfied with watching others scream on the way up the slope!)
Pulled pork sandwich and ribs from Gator BBQ’s stand @ Ribfest 2012 Ontario. The BEST sauce I’ve had in the 3 years I’ve been attending Ribfest! And the ribs were sooo tender. Mmmm…. I’m hungry just looking at the pics again :)
Went to a “sandwich smackdown” a couple weeks ago between Chef Mark McEwan and the fast-rising Toronto street food star Matt Basile from “fidel gastros”. These two awesome sammys are from mcewan: 1) beef brisket with caramelized onions and horseradish aioli; and 2) asian style pulled pork shoulder with yuzu mayo, cucumber-sesame slaw and coriander. Personally LOVED the brisket :)
The Stop (Community Food Centre) held a nightmarket at the Honest Ed alley in Toronto, featuring local gourmet chefs, breweries and others. Great collaborative event, even with local designers and OCAD students creating each of the food stands/displays.
